Pudlo Pudlat - Caribou In Northern Lights
Pudlo Pudlat (1916-1992) was a prolific Inuit artist who practiced printmaking, acrylic painting and drawing using graphite pencils, coloured pencils and felt-tip markers. His ‘Formidable Musk Ox’ was our first introduction to the graphic forms and expressive artistic tradition of Inuit Art.

Kinngait (formerly known as Cape Dorset) is the epicenter of where this style originated and retains its prominent role as a hub for Inuit art production today. The Cape Dorset calendar, now known as the Kinngait calendar, has a rich history tied to the development of Inuit art in Canada. It has established itself as an important annual publication showcasing the evolving styles and themes of Inuit art and is a collector's item for many art enthusiasts.
The calendar is published by Dorset Fine Arts, (a.k.a West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative) and can be purchased from these galleries. Below is a preview of the 2025 calendar.
