Interspecies Communication
Her name is Anna Breytenbach and she is an animal communicator. It’s easy to be dismissive of such an ability. The documentarian who followed her around Africa certainly was - until, over and over and over again, the animals Anna worked with, showed her differently.

Many may argue otherwise, but this is not that far-fetched. It’s telepathy, for lack of a better word. And it was a primary ability of ours in primordial times; we used it before we had language. We coordinated our movements during hunts with it. Vestiges of it still exist today; twins often express telepathic abilities. You too, have probably had one of those “I was just thinking of you!” right as someone texts, or some other version of this.
People like Anna though, for whatever reason, can dial into “it” (consciousness?) at a very high level. Communicating with animals has an additional layer of difficulty as you have to convey meaning through their life perspective - a rollercoaster, for example would have no context for a whale. And you can’t use language. You need to project mental images that will make sense to them, ideally embodying the images from their physical perspective. It takes energy, concentration, compassion, sensitivity and extreme focus - but it’s far from impossible.
There are many other “phenomena” or abilities such as this, resting latent in humans. The next post covers a really good example. And if you go deep enough down the rabbit hole, you will find all sorts of things; German schoolchildren “seeing” without their eyes. Roger Penrose, Antonio Damasio, Giulio Tononi, Alex Gomez-Marin, Brian Josephson, Daniel Siegel.
The ‘paranormal’ is actually supposed to be normal for us. We’ve calcified our powers, but the potential to access them again still exists.
